چکیده
Background: Dural Arteriovenous Fistula (DAVF), characterized by abnormally direct connections between meningeal arteries and veins or dural venous sinuses, is a rare subtype among the intracranial arteriovenous malformations. Although clinical manifestations of DAVF are very variable depending on locations size drainage, parkinsonism urinary incontinence rarely reported. Here, we present case with secondary to DAVF. Case Presentation: A 50-year-old man was admitted for progressively worsening weakness his left lower limb over year four months. Neurological examination revealed rigidity bradykinesia upper without an obvious tremor. Magnetic resonance imaging exhibited diffuse white matter hyperintensities in bilateral centrum semiovale. Cranial magnetic venography extensive tortuous Digital subtraction angiography multiple bilaterally distributed superior sagittal sinus, supplied occipital superficial temporal arteries. In one follow-up, patient completely cured after endovascular treatment according symptoms follow-up results. Conclusion: This report enriches presentations incontinence, which crucial diagnostic clue be aware possibility. Moreover, these can relieved timely treatment.

A 57-year-old woman presented with a dural arteriovenous fistula (AVF) involving the superior sagittal sinus (SSS) based upon serial radiological examinations. Cerebral angiography and magnetic resonance (MR) venography revealed the sinus thrombosis involving the SSS, the bilateral transverse sinuses (TSs), and the right sigmoid sinus. Her sympto...
متن کاملStraight sinus dural arteriovenous fistula presenting with reversible parkinsonism
RATIONALE A dural arteriovenous fistula (DAVF) refers to an abnormal direct connection between an intracranial artery and a dural venous sinus. A DAVF presenting with parkinsonism is rare, and is therefore easily misdiagnosed. Therefore, early consideration of DAVF in the differential diagnosis of reversible parkinsonism is necessary. PATIENT CONCERNS We present the case of a 51-year-old male...

We describe the case of a 72-year-old man who presented with dementia that had progressed rapidly over a few months. Laboratory analysis of blood and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) showed no abnormalities, with the exception of a slightly increased CSF protein level. Results of routine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) including diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and magnetic resonance angiography (MRA...
متن کاملTreatment of dural arteriovenous malformations involving the superior sagittal sinus.
We report the diagnosis and treatment of seven dural arteriovenous malformations involving the superior sagittal sinus. The most common presenting symptom was headache, although two patients presented with hemorrhage. Embolization alone effected a complete cure in four patients, while a combination of embolization and surgery was used in the remaining three patients. The first of these had intr...

Four patients with multiple intracranial dural arteriovenous fistulas (DAVFs) at separate sites were treated by endovascular techniques (transarterial and/or transvenous embolization), surgery (excision or isolation), radiotherapy, or combinations, according to the pathophysiological condition. All lesions in two patients were obliterated completely without neurological deficit. There were resi...
